Solar Panel Costs in Scotland, Explained
The straight answer: solar systems start from £3,999, and most typical installations come in between £6,000-£12,000 fully installed. The exact figure depends on how many panels fit your roof and whether you add a battery.

What Moves the Price Up or Down
No two roofs cost exactly the same. These four factors account for most of the difference between quotes.
Panel count and roof size
More panels mean more hardware and more labour on the day. A compact 10-panel system costs less than an 18-panel one, and the size and shape of your roof decide how many fit.
Battery size
A storage battery typically adds £4,000-£9,000 depending on capacity and brand. It is the biggest single variable, which is why each of our packages pairs a different battery with its panels.
Scaffolding
Safe roof access is priced separately, typically £500-£750 depending on your property. It appears as its own line on your quote, not hidden in the total.
Roof type and access
Steep pitches, taller buildings, dormers and unusual roof materials can add time and equipment. A straightforward install on a standard roof keeps the labour cost down.

0% VAT Until 31 March 2027
Home solar and battery installations are currently zero-rated for VAT across Great Britain, under the UK government's VAT relief for energy-saving materials (gov.uk VAT Notice 708/6). The 0% rate runs until 31 March 2027, then reverts to 5%. It applies automatically to every VAT-registered installer's price, so every figure on this page already includes it. It is not a discount we add on top.
