Fife Roofscape Knowledge

From coastal homes in Kirkcaldy and Burntisland dealing with salt air, to newer estates around Glenrothes and Dunfermline's sandstone terraces, we design around Fife's actual mix of roofs — not a one-size template.

Grid Paperwork Handled

Fife is SP Energy Networks territory, and most solar-and-battery systems need their 'G99' approval before switch-on. We submit it as part of your quote and build the wait into your installation plan.

Fife Solar Questions

Entry-level systems start from £3,999, and a typical Fife installation lands between £6,000-£12,000 depending on panel count, battery size and your roof. That covers the full job — scaffolding, the grid application and MCS paperwork included. We confirm an exact figure at a free survey, so there are no surprises later.

The honest way to answer that is with measured data rather than opinion. A 14-panel, 6.44 kWp system we installed in Dunfermline in December 2024 generated a measured 3,896 kWh in the 12 months to July 2026, avoiding an estimated £950 of electricity costs over that year — an estimate based on its measured generation at typical tariff rates, not a guarantee. Your own figure depends on your roof, usage and tariff, which is exactly what the survey works out. The system is on our live map, so you can check it yourself.

Fife's official MCS yield figure is about 857 kWh per kWp each year for a well-placed roof, so a typical 4 kWp system could produce around 3,450 kWh a year. Orientation, pitch and shading all move the real number — we confirm yours at survey, and you can compare against the measured output of our live Dunfermline install rather than taking our word for it.

Most Fife homes don't — roof-mounted solar is normally permitted development, meaning no planning application. The exceptions are listed buildings and conservation areas, and Fife has plenty: Dunfermline's Abbey quarter, Culross, Crail and the East Neuk villages among them. We check this for you at the survey and flag anything that needs Fife Council sign-off.

Fife is covered by SP Energy Networks, and most solar-and-battery systems need their approval (a 'G99 application') before switch-on. No hassle for you — we submit it as part of your quote and build the waiting time into your installation plan.

All of it. We're most active in the west — Dunfermline, where our live monitored system sits, plus Rosyth, Cowdenbeath and the commuter belt — and we install right across the Kingdom: Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Leven, Cupar, St Andrews and the East Neuk. If you're in Fife, we cover you.
